- Relaxation: Acupuncture sessions can create a deeply relaxing experience. Lying still and having the needles inserted can help calm the mind and promote a sense of tranquility.
- Stress reduction: Acupuncture has been found to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps counteract the "fight-or-flight" response associated with stress. This activation can lead to a reduction in heart rate, blood pressure, and overall stress levels.
- Mood regulation: Acupuncture may help regulate neurotransmitters in the brain, such as serotonin and dopamine, which play a role in mood regulation. By balancing these neurotransmitters, acupuncture may help alleviate symptoms of anxiety and improve overall emotional well-being.
